This is the part of the tour where we all realize that we had really good intentions of posting tour journals and twitter comments on a daily basis and then realize that between the traveling, the set up, the performing, and the everything else that gets dealt with on a daily basis that we really just want to use what little time we have sleeping.
Today is a quasi day off. We're in New York for a second day. Last night was the whole festival and it was fantastic. Seriously, I love this town and I love performing here. Tonight, it's just Crushed Souls and Time Machine at one of the clubs and CS is going on in about ten minutes. Crowd is already packed. I guess word's gotten out about just how fucking fantastic Mike is as a front man. Although he shaved his beard and is back to the baby-face look and I'm not really so sure I'm cool with that. ;-) It does take about ten years off his face.
He really is adorable.
Anyway! I'm married to his best friend. Gotta stop staring like that. ;-)
But yeah. We're at an actual hotel last night and tonight and then tomorrow we head somewhere else ... I think? I can't remember the schedule. I get on the bus when they tell me to. Tonight since it's just CS and TM you think I'd stay at the hotel and sleep but I help with vocals on some of the songs on the set list. So I'm kicked back in the green room, on the laptop, laughing at Mike and Sage who are pretending not to preen. (The greenroom of this club by the way? Doubles as the dressing room. It's actually kind of fun.)
Things have been flowing so smoothly with this tour and we're getting SUCH good press (OzzFest and CrueFest can totally bite it) - it was a gamble that paid off for all the bands that signed up to give it a try. And watching Jason get to really interact with Frank (from Sinful) and Thag (from Crusader) has been a joy. They've all known each other for thirty years and that they have each other now as friends ... I think despite the stress, it's added a good ten years to my husband's life.
You know ... I can be pretty damned boring sometimes. *laughs*
