So we all got emails from one of the fan club maintainers that maybe we could do some kind of a "getting to know you" kind of thing for the message board. So here I am. I will even answer questions you have about this thing. If you ask nicely. And provide beer. ;-)
Respond and rework; answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your invention & add one more question of your own. (I didn't replace anything, but I did add a question at the end.)
What is your full name?
Michael Anthony Wilson
What do you do for a living?
Lead guitarist for Time Machine; lead vocals and guitarist for Crushed Souls; producer with Skid Records; guest musician with bands like Karmic and Trans Siberian Orchestra.
What is your current obsession?
The Skid Marks tour. It is my entire LIFE right now.
What's for dinner?
Tonight? Um ... I think ... there are sandwiches in the green tent.
What's the last thing you bought?
Breakfast for me and the kidlet this morning. I had coffee and some yogurt. She ended up with some cinnamon roll concoction.
What are you listening to right now?
Dragonforce's Inhuman Rampage through my headphones as I try to relax a last few minutes before the craziness of show setup begins.
If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Home. I would curl up on the huge couch downstairs and pile my wife and the kids on top of me and hold them so, so tightly.
Which language do you want to learn?
Japanese. The fans love us so much there, I'd love to be able to communicate in their language.
What do you love most about where you currently live?
Currently I'm living on a tour bus with a bunch of other smelly musicians. And that's what I love the most. We're a big, dysfunctional family but in a good way. Despite the snoring.
What is your favorite color?
Black. I know it's not a color, but it's what I love.
What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe?
This t-shirt Jaz gave me for father's day last year. It has the Time Machine design on the back and then in the same style that I have the kids names tattooed on my back, everyone involved with the band - crew, members, and family - is in a spiral around the outside of the logo.
Describe your personal style?
Rocker: Jeans. T-shirts. Boots. An army shirt or jacket if it's cold. And long hair that needs a trim.

Presents for the kids.
What are you going to do after this?
Go work on festival setup. And Time Machine has a meet and greet with some local fans. And sometime this afternoon, Trin is supposed to bring Matthew by ...
What are your favorite films?
Gad. I have 4 kids under the age of ten at home so I watch a lot of Disney stuff. heh. I am a sucker for a good musical though - Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, Tommy. I really liked O Brother Where Art Tho and The Shawshank Redemption. My younger brother is in film school so I've been paying more attention to film lately.
Your favorite smell?
My wife. Corny, but it's true. She uses this amazing perfume that just grabs me and won't let me go. It's followed very closely by the smell of the stage right before a show. And yes, there is a smell. It's lust and passion and anticipation all rolled into one.
Do you collect anything?
Classic guitars. Well, guitars in general.
What makes you follow a blog?
Interesting writing. It also helps if I know the person.
Do you like to comment on blogs or just lurk?
I'm a lurker. It takes a lot for me to comment.
What's one thing you dream of doing?
Spending more time with the kids and the wife.
If you had to give up one sense what would it be and why?
I'd give up my sense of taste. I love food. I love taste. But I'll be damned if I'm going to give up things that I need to do my job and I need my eyes and ears and I REALLY need my sense of touch. I really do.
What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
Ummmmmmmmmm. ;-) I can't go into detail. She'll hit me.
Do you have a tattoo?
Many with more to come.
If you could be anyone who would it be?
I'd be me. Seriously, I love my life and what I have accomplished in it. I have a fantastic career, amazing children, and a soul mate who keeps me grounded. Why would I want to be anyone else?
Are you left handed, right handed, ambidextrous, or a little of both?
I'm definitely right handed but skilled with both. In my line of work, you have to be.
What is the single most defining moment of your life thus far?
Wow. There are two, really. The first was when Jason found me after that set when I was 17 years old and offered me an audition with Time Machine. The other was when I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Jaz.
Favorite texture?
The fretboards of a guitar. Yes, yes it is.
Name a country / state or province that you feel very attracted to visiting and have curiosity about. Why?
You know, we have been pretty much everywhere in the world but the middle east and we are now going into the middle east on the next tour, so ... But on a personal level I want to take the kids to Ireland and show them where their grandparents are from.
Added question: Favorite piece of music and why?
Pachabel's Canon in D. It is perfection in it's ultimate simplicity. In any of the classes I have ever taught, it's been the cornerstone.
